Beeja Mantras
सरस्वत्यार्थ ऐशब्दो बिन्दुर्दुःखहरार्थकः।
सरस्वत्या बीजमेतत्तेन वाणीं प्रपूजयेत्॥
Sarasvatyārtha aiśabdo bindurduḥkhaharārthakaḥ|
Sarasvatyā bījametattena vāṇīṁ prapūjayet||
The sound (śabdaḥ) "ai" (ai) means (arthaḥ) Sarasvatī (sarasvatī), (while) the dot or bindu (in Anunāsika or Nādabindu) (binduḥ) means (arthakaḥ) destroyer (hara) of pain (duḥkha). This (etad) is the seed-mantra (bījam) of the goddess Sarasvatī (sarasvatyāḥ). One should worship (prapūjayet) Vāṇī (vāṇim) by means of it (tena)||
विश्वमाता नादरूपा कुर्वर्थो बिन्दुरूपकः।
तेनैव कालिकादेवीं पूजयेद्दुःखशान्तये॥
Da durgāvācakaṁ devī ukāraścāpi rakṣaṇe|
Viśvamātā nādarūpā kurvartho bindurūpakaḥ|
Tenaiva kālikādevīṁ pūjayedduḥkhaśāntaye||
(The letter) "da" (da) is expressive (vācakam) of Durgā (durgā), and (ca) (this) goddess (devī) (is) also (api) the "u" letter (u-kāraḥ), oh Protector One (raksaṇe)! The mother (mātā) of the universe (viśva) has the appearance (rūpā) of nāda or half-moon (nāda) (while) that whose form (rūpakaḥ) (is) a dot or bindu (bindu) means (arthaḥ) "do!" (kuru). By means of that (seed-mantra) (tena eva), one should worship (pūjayet) goddess (devīm) Kālikā (kālikā) in order to alleviate (śāntaye) pain (duḥkha)||
ह शिवः कथितो देवि ऊ भैरव इहोच्यते।
परार्थो नाद शब्दस्तु बिन्दुर्दुःखहरार्थकः।
वर्मबीजत्रयो ह्यत्र कथितस्तव यत्नत॥
Ha śivaḥ kathito devi ū bhairava ihocyate|
Parārtho nādo śabdastu bindurduḥkhaharārthakaḥ|
Varmabījatrayo hyatra kathitastava yatnataḥ||
Oh goddess (devi), (the letter) "ha" (ha) is said to be (kathitaḥ) Śiva (śivaḥ), (while the vowel) "ū" (ū) is said to be (ucyate) Bhairava (bhairavaḥ) here (iha). The sound (śabdaḥ) nāda or half-moon (nādaḥ) signifies (arthaḥ) Para or Highest (arthaḥ) certainly (tu), (and) bindu or dot (binduḥ) means (arthakaḥ) destroyer (hara) of pain (duḥkha). Here (atra) the three (letters) (trayas) (forming) the armor (varma) seed-mantra (bīja) are spoken (kathitaḥ) to You (tava) diligently and with effort (yatnatas) indeed (hi)||
क काली ब्रह्म र प्रोक्तं महामायार्थकश्च ई।
विश्वमातार्थको नादो बिन्दुर्दुःखहरार्थकः॥
Ka kālī brahma ra proktaṁ mahāmāyārthakaśca ī|
Viśvamātārthako nādo bindurduḥkhaharārthakaḥ||
(The letter) "ka" (kaḥ) (is) Kālī (kālī), (the letter) "ra" (ra) (is) said to be (proktam) Brahma (brahma), and (ca) (the vowel) "ī" (ī) means (arthakaḥ) Mahāmāyā (mahā-māyā). Nāda or half-moon (nādaḥ) signifies (arthakaḥ) the Mother (mātā) of the universe (viśva), (while) bindu or dot (binduḥ) means (arthakaḥ) destroyer (hara) of pain (duḥkha)||

NRISIṀHA'S BĪJAMANTRA
क्ष नृसिंहो ब्रह्म रश्च ऊर्ध्वदन्तार्थकश्च औ।
दुःखहरार्थको बिन्दुर्नृसिंहं तेन पूजयेत्॥
Kṣa nṛsimho brahma raśca ūrdhvadantārthakaśca au|
Duḥkhaharārthako bindurnṛsiṁhaṁ tena pūjayet||
(The conjunct) "kṣa" (kṣa) (is) Nṛsiṁha (nṛsiṁhaḥ), and (ca) (the letter) "ra" (raḥ) (is) Brahma (brahma), and (ca) (the vowel) "au" (au) means (arthakaḥ) teeth (danta) (pointing) upward (ūrdhva). Bindu or dot (binduḥ) means (arthakaḥ) destroyer (hara) of pain (duḥkha). One should worship (pūjayet) Nṛsiṁha (nṛsiṁham) by means of that (seed-mantra) (tena)||
मुक्त्यार्थो रेफ उक्तोऽत्र महामायार्थकश्च ई।
विश्वमातार्थको नादो बिन्दुर्दुःखहरार्थकः।
वधूबीजार्थ उक्तोऽत्र तव स्नेहान्महेश्वरि॥
Durgottāraṇavācyaḥ sa tārakārthastakārakaḥ|
Muktyārtho repha ukto'tra mahāmāyārthakaśca ī|
Viśvamātārthako nādo bindurduḥkhaharārthakaḥ|
Vadhūbījārtha ukto'tra tava snehānmaheśvari||
(The letter) "sa" (sa) expresses (vācyaḥ) deliverance (uttāraṇa) from difficulties and dangers (durga). The letter (kārakaḥ) "ta" (ta) means (arthaḥ) savior (tāraka). Repha or (the letter) "ra" (rephaḥ) is said (uktaḥ) to mean (arthaḥ) here (atra) Liberation (mukti), and (ca) (the vowel) "ī" (ī) signifies (arthakaḥ) Mahāmāyā (mahāmāyā). Nāda or half-moon (nādaḥ) means (arthakaḥ) the Mother (mātā) of the universe (viśva), (while) bindu or dot (binduḥ) signifies (arthakaḥ) destroyer (hara) of pain (duḥkha). The meaning (arthaḥ) of the seed-mantra (bīja) of the Supreme Woman or Śakti (vadhū) (is) here (atra) uttered (uktaḥ) out of love (snehāt) for You (tava), oh Great (mahā) Mistress (īśvari)!||
